Is the thicker the SPC floor better?
In recent years, in the flooring industry, many flooring manufacturers have increased the thickness of the flooring from 3mm to 12mm. Let most consumers naturally think that the thicker the SPC flooring, the more durable it is. So they also think that the thicker the floor, the better the quality. Is it really so?
In fact, SPC floors with a thickness of 4-5mm have already reached the thickness of international standards. In addition, for wood floors, thickness is not a criterion for determining the quality of the floor. Whether it is a thick floor or a thin floor, as long as the surface is worn down, it cannot be used.
And the SPC flooring is even more so. The UV quality of the surface layer is largely related to the service life of the SPC floor, not the thickness of the substrate.
What really determines the life of the SPC floor is the wear layer. SPC floors are generally composed of four to five layers of material structures, namely UV layer, wear-resistant layer, color filter layer, and substrate. Some floors also have mute pads attached to the back. The wear layer is a key part in determining the life of an SPC floor. High-quality SPC floors will undergo UV abrasion-resistant treatment.
The wear-resistant layer endows the surface of the SPC floor with important properties such as wear resistance, scratch resistance, cigarette burn resistance, pollution resistance, corrosion resistance, and moisture resistance.
AJ FLOOR SPC flooring consists of five layers. They are UV layer, wear-resistant layer, color filter layer, substrate layer and mute pad. Our SPC floors are made of 100% virgin materials. And our floor adopts click system. They are very easy to install. Therefore, it can save a lot of decoration time.
